갑상선암의 새로운 AJCC 8판 적용 시점의 결정 사항 및 협조 요청

암 병기 결정을 위한 AJCC 7판 (2010년-2016년)이 최근 8판으로 개정되어 2017년1월1일 부로 유효한 것으로 발표되었습니다.

내분비병리학연구회는 2016년 12월 13일 정기 모임에서 갑상선암 AJCC 8판 적용에 관해 토의한 결과 7판에 비해 8판에서 많은 변화가 있음을 확인하였으며, 2017년 1월부터 AJCC 8판을 바로 적용한다면 임상 현장에서 많은 혼란이 야기될 것으로 판단하였습니다. 또한 다음과 같은 미국 CAP (College of American Pathologists)의 의견도 검토하였습니다: "In order to ensure that the cancer care community has the necessary infrastructure in place for documenting 8th Edition stage, the AJCC Executive Committee, in dialogue with the National Cancer Institute (NCI-SEER), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the College of American Pathologists (CAP), the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB), and the Commission on Cancer (CoC), made the decision to delay the implementation of the 8th Edition Cancer Staging System to January 1, 2018. All newly diagnosed cases through December 31, 2017 should be staged with the 7th edition."

내분비병리학연구회는 다음과 같이 결정하였으니 회원 여러분들께 적극 동참해 주시길 요청드립니다.

1. 한국에서 갑상선암 AJCC 8판 적용 시점은 1년간 유예 기간을 두어 2018년 1월 1일부터 시행할 것을 권장한다.

2. 갑상선암 진단 및 진료의 혼선을 방지하기 위하여 적용 시점 이전에 충분한 토론 및 교육 기회를 마련한다.

3. 유관 학회에 협조를 요청한다.
